4 Month Checkup for Charlie

Charlie had his checkup today. We're a little early since he's not 4 months until next week. He's still long and skinny!

26 inches long (90th percentile)
13lbs 14 1/2 oz (25th percentile)

He also just looks skinny. He's not nearly as chunky as Will was at this age.

More Rolling

Well today Charlie rolled from back to belly twice. He doesn't like being on his belly so he gets himself over there and then gets all mad.

Unfortunately this means I have to stop swaddling him when he sleeps. He's been sleeping pretty vrappy at night the last week anyway. Hoping this doesn't make it worse.

Nap time has gotten a bit easier this week. I've been able to swaddle him and lay him in his crib with his pacifier when he is awake and he drifts off to sleep without fussing. This doesn't work all the time, but a lot. Just makes life easier. Hoping swaddling isnt too key of a component there.

Charlie Rolled Over Today!

The itty bitty guy rolled from belly to back today. He did it two times in a row for me. I stopped after that, though, because it was just pissing him off.

In looking back at old blog posts I think Will had rolled over long before now. The thing is, though, that poor Charlie hardly ever gets any tummy time. I'm always either holding him/carrying him or sitting him in his bouncy seat so he can watch Will and me play and I can talk to him. I remember when Will was little giving him tummy time every night and urging him to roll over. This went on for weeks and weeks and I was SO excited when he finally did it. Today, I put Charlie on his belly and he just popped right over to his back with hardly any practice at all. I think it just speaks to the fact that they'll do something when they're ready. Trying to push things early doesn't really do much good.
